We are deeply disappointed to share that at this time we must reschedule MSU Startup Summit 2020 and our 10th Anniversary Celebration.

As you are undoubtedly aware, there are significant health concerns due to the rapidly evolving impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19). The E-Center waited until the very last possible moment to make the call, relying on guidance from MSU senior leadership and the MS Department of Health. MSU suspended all university-sponsored events and gatherings through at least March 23 and a transition to online instruction for the immediate future. With students back from spring break and other friends coming from all over the place, it was decided that it would be irresponsible to expose everyone to this rapidly evolving risk.

This was a record-setting year for MSU Startup Summit, with 69 team applications and 35 judges from businesses around the country. The team and I couldn’t be more proud of how this speaks to the culture of entrepreneurship at MSU, which made this decision even more difficult.

We will announce a new date when we can determine with some degree of confidence that the global crisis will permit MSU to return to normal operations. Ongoing updates from MSU on the whole can be found at this link: http://msstate.edu/coronavirus

Please stay healthy and safe, and we look forward to hearing great pitches and celebrating with you as soon as we can reschedule. At this time, MSU and the E-Center will remain open for business to assist entrepreneurs – particularly ready to help anyone who develops a Coronavirus rapid test kit.
